Hey there, seems like today everywhere you go in the west you know at least one person who rocks with Japan a lot. It's not surprising, more and more people are watching anime. Then you have plenty of people who are koreaboos as well.
Oddly enough, however, it seems like more and more Asian girls are appearing on TV, YouTube, or in advertisements. I mean, it's not a bad thing. But something just doesn't feel right when a country that supposedly didn't rock with Asians (ex. Chinese exclusion act, pearl harbor, counterfeit goods, trademarks, etc.) Now all of a sudden, in this new Wal-Mart commercial they want to show two Asian women. One of them who gets a package from Wal-Mart smiles at her neighbor while the neighbor's package looks similar to Amazon.
Now I now what you're thinking... Well it's just that they want money. Yes. Maybe that's true, but I just find it weird that whenever I look something up on my phone rapidly and I'll click on whatever website appears first. Often times the post is written for a huge media channel and then I'll scroll down and there will be an ad stating: "Asian women looking to date men in Marietta"
Okay so the first thoughts that come into my head are: First, how the hell did you get my location and second, what the hell is wrong with you people? I mean the dating sites, but more specifically the companies that own these websites. Why would multi-national companies allow such fetishization of Asian women?
How come they don't make an ad like "black women looking to date men in Atlanta" or "tall women looking for fun" I'm not Asian myself, so I know most Asian people wouldn't hold my opinion as much as theirs but still. Something like this just doesn't seem right.
It's not that dating Asian women is bad, however. I just don't feel that the higher ups have our best interest. And what I mean by this is there's so much wrong with relationships based on the physical.
Well unfortunately, the world is still an unfriendly place when it comes to differences. Even though aliens would probably just look at us all and say "all y' all muff-uckers" look the same, in our society it seems like we still care about ethnicities and race. To be honest, I don't even want to tell you how I view interracial relationships, because quite frankly I don't care. If people love each other, then that's all that matters.
So I've made it a habit to only research on my phone in incognito mode. Why? Because I don't want cookies from websites to spam me with their constant bombarding of heinous ads and data. I find it disturbing that these tech giants know a lot about us, yet we don't know anything about them. What I'm getting at here overall, is that these dating companies really just know too much about us, which is the real reason you've probably been seeing an explosion of asian girls in advertisements!
Asian women are valued and welcomed by men of all races on dating websites. That's no secret, and so by acknowledging these statistics, other people will take note of that and show people what they want to see. In my opinion, this is like catering to those fans. In contrast, however, do you people find it strange that the males get emasculated and not represented enough? I wonder how many females get "Asian men looking to date hot women like yourself" advertisements
The lesson to learn from this? Maybe we should stop giving away so much info.
